Harlequins RL have signed Bradford Bulls prop forward Matt James, who has spent most of this season on loan to Co-operative Championship club Halifax.

The 22-year-old Wales international, who made only two substitute appearances for the Bulls in 2009, has signed a two-year deal with the Londoners and becomes their third recruit for 2010 alongside Oliver Wilkes (Wakefield Wildcats) and Ryan Esders (Hull KR).

James, who was coached by Harlequins boss Brian McDermott at his junior club Eastmoor, said: “I think it will be a great opportunity for me to play more Super League and develop as a player.

“Brian McDermott coached me from the age of 12 to 16 and I’m very excited about once again working under him and his team at Harlequins.”

McDermott said: “I’m looking forward to creating another ‘north to south’ success story.”
