Castleford Tigers loose forward Joe Westerman will not play against Celtic Crusaders on Sunday, the club have decided.
The 19-year-old was taken to hospital last Sunday after having fits on the field during their 68-22 defeat by St Helens.
Westerman, the 2008 engage Super League young player of the year, is recovering well but coach Terry Matterson has decided to rest him this weekend as he undergoes further medical checks.
“We’re going to be careful with him,” said club spokesman David Smart. “Joe came in again this morning but Terry sent him home to rest.
“He says he is feeling okay but he doesn’t remember much of the incident. He is going to have a further examination and Terry will assess him next week.”
