The Harlequins RL trio of Rob Purdham, Louie McCarthy Scarsbrook and Tony Clubb have all been named in Tony Smith’s 18 man squad to face Wales this Friday in the Gillette Fusion International.
Cumbrian Purdham will make his first full appearance for the England side having previously represented his country in the Federation Shield, whilst McCarthy Scarsbrook and Clubb, graduates of the London development system, will both make their International debuts.
The squad to face Wales will include eight players named in Tony Smith’s 24 man World Cup squad who fly to Australia on Monday (13 October), including Warrington’s Martin Gleeson who will captain the side.
Other debutants in the side include Castleford’s Michael Shenton and Salford’s Richard Myler who was named The Co-operative Young Player of the Year just a fortnight ago.
McCarthy Scarsbrook and Clubb are both products of the London based Greenwich Admirals amateur outfit.
