Man Of Steel Winners

Started in 1977, the Man of Steel Award annually honours the outstanding player in the British game.

Originally voted on by members of the Rugby Football League press and, from 2008, by Super League players themselves, the award is club and country blind - the success of the player's club is irrelevant and winners include Welshmen, a Scot, Australians and two New Zealanders.

2013 - Danny Brough, Huddersfield Giants

The 30-year-old collected the sport’s most coveted individual award, presented to the player deemed to have made the greatest impact on the 2013 season, at a gala presentation dinner at Old Trafford Cricket Ground, Manchester.

Brough, who joined the Giants from Wakefield Trinity Wildcats in 2010, was in outstanding form for Huddersfield, playing an instrumental role in guiding them to their first League Leaders’ Shield in 81 years, scoring 129 goals and eight tries in the process.

He secured the award following a two-part selection process incorporating a ballot of every Super League player before the final decision was made by a specially convened five-man Man of Steel Selection Panel.
