Tackle IT is a game wide programme with three key messages
- Celebrate the diversity within Rugby League
- Zero tolerance to discrimination prejudice and abuse relating to gender, gender identity, race, disability, age, religion or faith and sexual orientation
- Importance of reporting any unacceptable language and behaviour.
Tackle IT! comprises a dvd, suite of 7 posters as well as a brand new education pack aimed at high schools and our clubs to support the Tackle IT! programme.
We are delighted to offer the Tackle IT! resources; posters, dvd and education pack FREE but if you find them useful please consider making a donation to Rugby League Cares and help put something back into our sport. All donations gratefully received.
If your school or club uses the tackle IT! resources we would appreciate your feedback so that we can continually review and improve the resources we can offer. We would also like to feature examples of any work your school or club has created as a result of the Tackle IT! on the RFL website so please send posters, dvd’s or magazines you have created or other teaching ideas to firstname.lastname@example.org
"At Stretford High School we have a hugely diverse community and over recent years we have embraced rugby league and in partnership with our local community have created a community club, North Trafford Titans.
One of the most attractive qualities of the sport is the welcoming atmosphere. This ethos is special and is nurtured and protected by the Tackle IT! programme. We are proud to be associated with it and will be using the excellent teaching resources. We are supporting the programme and are happy to join the Teachers Rugby League Association in urging schools to make use of these resources and opportunity.”

"Thatto Heath Crusaders were very happy to be part of the pilot group for the development of the RFL’s Tackle IT programme. We intend to roll out the programme across our Junior section over the coming year as we feel strongly that our great game should be accessible to all. The content and structure of the Tackle IT course is both educational and informative and we recommend it to all Amateur Clubs across the game."

Working with vulnerable students and students at risk of exclusion, I have found the resources from the RFL fantastic. Giving the pupils the opportunity to think of the impact of what they say and do has on others. My experience is that this is a tool box that can be used again and again, allowing pupils to research and produce their own posters, worksheets, powerpoints. Extending the visual resource of how we judge others on how they look, producing their own using family members, film stars, sporting personalities ect. Learning that we are all the same but different.
