Reasons for Decision This tribunal feel this was an extremely serious incident which resulted in the tackled player receiving a season ending injury of a dislocated shoulder and the player may be out of the game for several months. Having viewed the DVD this tribunal are satisfied this was a deliberate action of applying considerable undue pressure on the opponents shoulder. The player has a duty of care towards his opponent and although this tribunal are satisfied the player did not intend to cause the resultant injury the duty of care was not present in this case. The player is given some credit for his admission and the remorse shown. The sanction imposed must reflect how serious this tribunal take such tackles. In this instance a 5 match suspension is imposed with a fine of £50
