Summary of CM's submissions on the Charge / evidence Following a Match Review Panel meeting held on 17th March 2014, you are charged with misconduct for a breach of Law 15.1(i) during the above Match. The Panel reviewed an incident which occurred in approximately the 3rd minute of the above Match. In the Panel’s opinion you unnecessarily applied pressure to the head, neck or spinal column of an opponent (Donaldson) so as to keep your opponent at a disadvantage in the tackle. In the opinion of the Panel this is misconduct, against the spirit of the game and had the potential to injure your opponent.
Summary of Player's submissions on the Charge / evidence Player accompanied by Head Coach Paul Anderson. Player accepts there was some degree of undue pressure on the neck of the opponent. Players technique is being looked at. Player in control and allows opponents head out when he realises some undue pressure being exerted immediately releases. In tackle left arm is on the ball, there is no re gripping and there is no snap by the player on the opponents head. No intent to injure.

However such tackles have the potential for serious injury and the tribunal have a duty to protect players.
