Player plea Guilty
Summary of CM's submissions on the Charge / evidence Following a Match Review Panel meeting held on 03 June 2013, you are charged with misconduct for a breach of Law 15.1(d) during the above Match. The Panel reviewed an incident which occurred in approximately the 28th minute of the Match. The Panel were concerned that you lifted your opponent (Rodney) and then dropped him to the ground in an unsafe manner. The Panel believed that you were culpable in lifting your opponent into a dangerous position and that the tackle could have resulted in a serious injury. In accordance with the RFL’s On Field Sentencing Guidelines, the Panel consider that such offence is a Grade C offence; (Dangerous Throw – Lifting and Dropping Player). If found to have committed the offence, again in accordance with the On Field Sentencing Guidelines, the normal suspension range for such offence is from a 2 match to a 3 match suspension. In addition the Tribunal has the power to impose such fine as it considers reasonable. Under the RFL Disciplinary Guidelines you are not eligible to take an Early Guilty Plea due to your previous disciplinary record.

Head coach Darryl Powell speaking on behalf of the player states as described the initial contact is good however concedes the opponent is lifted far too high and taken to ground very heavily although not dropped. Mitigating Factors
Reasons for Decision The committee have viewed this incident and it is clear that the lift is very high and the opponent lands in a dangerous position and is fortuitous to escape serious injury. The committee give the player credit for his plea of guilt and show of remorse however the player has previous for the same type of offence only 2 months ago. The committee feel that a 3 match suspension and a £300 is appropriate in this instance.
