Summary of CM's submissions on the Charge / evidence Following a Match Review Panel meeting held on 14 March 2013, you are charged with misconduct for a breach of Law 15.1(f) during the above Match. The Panel reviewed an incident which occurred in approximately the 78th minute of the Match and reviewed a report from the Match Referee. You were dismissed from the field of play following this incident. The reports states as follows: “A penalty was awarded against Hull KR and after the penalty was awarded No. 19 disputed the penalty so I advanced the mark a further 10m for dissent and sin-binned Hull KR No. 19. After I had issued the yellow card, Hull KR No. 19 turned to me and used abusive language and questioned my integrity After considering the evidence provided and in accordance with the RFL’s On Field Sentencing Guidelines, the Panel consider that such offence is a Grade D offence (Uses foul and abusive language and questions the integrity of a Match Official). If found to have committed the offence, again in accordance with the On Field Sentencing Guidelines, the normal suspension range for such offence is from a 3 to a 5 match suspension. In addition the Tribunal has the power to impose such fine as it considers reasonable. Under the RFL Disciplinary Guidelines you are not eligible to take an Early Guilty Plea due to the severity of the charge.

Reasons for Decision
Decision On Sanction (where found to have committed Misconduct)
Summary of CM's submissions on the appropriate sanction No further submissions.
Summary of Player's submissions on the appropriate sanction Guilty plea. Player is remorseful and has a clean record albeit he is very young.
Aggravating Factors Breach of the Respect policy.
Mitigating Factors
Reasons for Decision The committee take acts of foul and abusive language towards match officials very seriously and condone such acts as these. This was an extremely bad case and but for the player’s plea of guilt and remorse feel the suspension could have been the maximum the committee feel. Given all the circumstances and a guilty plea the committee feel that a 4 match suspension and a £25 fine is appropriate.
Suspension 4 matches
Fine £25
