Hull FC’s former Australia Test utility player Shaun Berrigan has joined the club’s crippling injury list with a damaged bicep.
The ex-Brisbane Broncos hooker or centre is expected to be out until Easter after sustaining the injury during Tuesday’s training session with Melbourne Storm at Featherstone.
Berrigan suffered a shoulder injury in pre-season but recovered in time to play in Hull’s first three engage Super League matches, each time occupying a different position.
His scrum-half role against Huddersfield Giants on Sunday is likely to go to fellow Australian Adam Dykes, who has recovered from a calf injury and is set to make his engage Super League debut.
Hull also expect to have winger Matt Sing available for the first time this year - but Richard Horne, Kirk Yeaman, Richard Whiting, Willie Manu and Garreth Carvell remain on the injury list.
“There is a light at the end of the tunnel, but just when you think our luck is turning things like this happen,” said coach Peter Sharp.
