Hull KR coach Justin Morgan was not too downbeat despite seeing his side go down 28-29 to Warrington Wolves in another Craven Park thriller but Wolves boss Paul Cullen was the unhappier man despite seeing his side edge home.
Warrington held on to victory after storming into a 28-0 lead and in the end were only saved by a Mick Monaghan drop goal as Rovers forced their way back into the game.
Missing Matt King and Chris Bridge from last week's side, the Wolves were 28-0 up inside the first half hour as Rovers showed little of their current form which had seen them see off St Helens and the Catalans.
However, the Rovers’ fightback began after an hour when Ben Cockayne and Ben Galea went over, both tries converted by Scott Murrell.
Monaghan's 72nd- minute drop goal gave Wolves breathing space but Rovers would not give in. Stanley Gene's break sent in Kris Welham with Murrell converting on 73 minutes and then Daniel Fitzhenry's try on 75 minutes converted by Murrell almost closed the gap.
Morgan bemoaned his side’s start which left them with a mountain to climb.
He said: "The start let us down again, we gave them back to back penalties, came up with errors and gifted them field position. I don’t think we asked enough of Warrington to get them coming out of their own end in the first half and when they got the field position they scored some decent tries.
"The second half with the pressure off saw us being a bit more direct. But you can’t give sides 28 points start and expect to win."
He added: "Even at half time I thought we could get back in the game but not if we carried on doing what we were doing. I thought if we got 50% of the ball in the second half we could score some points which we did.
"Now we have two weeks before we can rectify our mistakes so we might have to stew on them for a fortnight rather than a week. But we can come back in a fortnight against Wakefield and I am sure we can improve. We just need to become more dominant early on in games."
An obviously upset Cullen said: "We were 28-0 up and completely and utterly in control. We then conceded five back-to- back penalties and spent the last 10 minutes of the first half defending our try line."
