Newly-promoted Castleford Tigers have signed former London Broncos and Salford City Reds stand-off Luke Dorn on a 12-month contract.

The 25-year-old Australian, who played for Manly and Sydney Roosters before moving to engage Super League three years ago, scored 32 tries in 50 appearances for the Londoners but had a less successful season with the relegated Reds this year.

“Luke has bags of pace and is a top-notch support player which is reflected in a very good try-scoring record,” said Castleford chief executive Richard Wright.

“Although still relatively young, he has plenty of top flight experience. He was highly regarded in Australia and was in discussions with North Queensland Cowboys but has chosen to sign with the Tigers.”

The Tigers have also agreed a one-year loan deal with St Helens for 19-year-old hooker or half-back Scott Moore, who became the youngest player in Super League when he made his debut against Wigan as a 16-year-old in 2004.

“Scott is a very promising young player who Saints see as a natural replacement for Keiron Cunningham, but with James Roby also on board they are happy for us to take him for a season where they feel his game can develop,” said Wright.
