Wakefield Trinity Wildcats have agreed a loan deal with Huddersfield Giants to retain the services of prop Michael Korkidas for 2010.
The 28-year-old Australian re-joined the Wildcats at the end of May in an exchange deal involving Danny Sculthorpe and he has appeared in each of their last 12 matches as the Wildcats clinched a play-off spot.
“We’re delighted to secure the services of Michael for a further 12 months,” said Wakefield coach John Kear.
“He has continued his great recent form and we look forward to him producing further outstanding performances.”
The former Sydney Roosters front rower, who had a year left on his contract with Huddersfield, originally joined Wakefield in 2003 and also had spells with Salford City Reds and Castleford Tigers.
Huddersfield managing director Michael Thewlis said: “The arrangement for Michael has worked out well for all three parties and we are happy to extend it until the end of the 2010 season.”
