Watene Fund To Benefit From 9’s Ticket Sales

Wakefield Wildcats are delighted to be one of six engage Super League clubs taking part in the Carnegie Floodlit 9’s at Headingley Carnegie Stadium on Wednesday August 26th.

The Wildcats are set to face Hull KR in the first knockout round of the competition which is set be even better than the successful 2008 Floodlit 9’s which was won by Huddersfield Giants.

An allocation of 500 tickets for the evening’s celebration of rugby are available in the Wildcats Superstore from today (Monday 15th June) priced at £10 for adults, whilst children (under 16’s) can watch all the action for free.

Concessions tickets are available for OAP’s and students for just £5.  Students will be required to produce a valid NUS card.

Anyone buying their ticket from the Wildcats Superstore will be making a contribution to the Adam Watene Fund, as for every £10 ticket bought £5 will go straight into the Fund.

The Fund was set up to support the Watene family following the tragic loss of the popular prop, and the club are encouraging fans to buy their tickets for the tournament in advance from the club shop to support the Fund.

Cumbria RL, Leeds Met Carnegie and invitational side Jamaica will play in a preliminary group stage on the night for the right to face Hull FC.

The Army RL, the Cheltenham nines winners and the winners of the Northern Rail nines competition will also battle it out for the right to play last year’s tournament winners Huddersfield Giants.

As well as all the rugby action there is much more to be enjoyed at the Carnegie 9’s including the quest to find the fastest man in rugby league, with Luke George representing the Wildcats against the likes of Leeds’ Scott Donald and Kevin Penny of Warrington Wolves.

There is also an under 8’s festival and a Girls rugby league county game to be enjoyed on what is sure to be a fantastic night’s entertainment for rugby fans of all ages.

The full draw for the evening is as follows:
