Huddersfield Giants breathed a sigh of relief today when former New Zealand Test centre Jamahl Lolesi received his long-awaited visa.
Lolesi is one of a host of overseas players stranded in Australia and New Zealand by red tape following a tightening up of visa processing at the British High Commission in Canberra. But he will now fly into the country on Sunday before the Giants' friendly against Wigan at the Galpharm Stadium.
Huddersfield managing director Richard Thewlis said: "The whole process is extremely lengthy now, and Jamahl has been as frustrated with this as we have.
"He has been training back at home, but it's not the same as being with the team throughout the off season."
