Tupou out for season

Bradford Bulls winger Tame Tupou will miss the rest of the season after being told he needs to undergo major knee surgery.

The 25-year-old New Zealand international, who was signed from Brisbane Broncos a year ago to replace Lesley Vainikolo but has made only eight appearances this season, will have an operation to repair his anterior cruciate ligament.

Bulls coach Steve McNamara said: “The injury to Tame is a bad one and he has been advised that it needs operating on immediately.

“It’s very disappointing for both the player and the club and it’s another major injury for us but that’s part and parcel of the game.”
