Centre Carl Ablett scored a try in each half as Super League champions Leeds Rhinos eased to a comfortable derby triumph over Bradford Bulls to stretch their unbeaten run to eight matches and climb to third place in the table.

Prop Ryan Bailey marked his return from a four-match ban with his first try of the season and Rhinos captain Kevin Sinfield kicked seven goals from seven attempts on his 450th appearance for the club.

Leeds coach Brian McDermott claimed in the build-up to the match that his side's attack was not up to scratch but he cannot fail to have been impressed by their seven-try show.

Despite the loss of second rower John Bateman, who failed to recover from a wrist injury, Bradford had high hopes of improving on their 18-18 draw at Headingley but they were blown away by the Rhinos' rampaging start.

The warning signs were there from the moment Sinfield's clever kick found winger Kallum Watkins in space in the first minute while powerful second rower Mitch Achurch burst through their defence moments later.

Both chances went begging but there was no stopping Watkins four minutes in, when fellow winger Ryan Hall ran the ball back after collecting Luke Gale's deep kick and the England centre cut a swathe through the heart of the Bradford defence for a 60-metre solo try.

Two minutes later loose forward Jamie Jones-Buchanan got second rower Brett Delaney through a gap and Danny McGuire, Sinfield and Zak Hardaker continued the move to allow Achurch to finish off with his third try for the club.

Sinfield added both conversions to make it 12-0 after only six minutes and although Bradford weathered the storm, they suffered a cruel blow midway through the first half to slip further behind.

A superb run out of defence by stand-off Jarrod Sammut was ruined by a needless obstruction by one of his team-mates and Leeds immediately worked their way upfield, where Ablett took Rob Burrow's pass as first receiver to go over for his first try.

A magnificent try-saving tackle by winger Elliott Kear on Hardaker kept the Bulls' interest alive and prop Ben Evans gave them renewed hope on 29 minutes when he took Heath L'Estrange's short pass to crash over for his first try for the club on his home debut.

Sammut's goal made it 18-6 but Leeds took the game away from their hosts with two further tries in the last five minutes of the first half.

Hooker Paul McShane burst clear moments after entering the action to get McGuire over and Bailey used his brute force to surge over.

At 30-6, there was no realistic way back for the Bulls but L'Estrange's long pass got Kear over for a try six minutes into the second half, and six minutes later full-back Brett Kearney dummied his way over for his 11th of the season.

Sammut kicked his second goal to cut the deficit to a manageable 14 points but Hardaker finally ended their hopes on 64 minutes when he wriggled out of a two-man tackle to stretch out for Leeds' sixth try.

Sinfield then worked Ablett over for his second try straight from a scrum 10 metres out and maintained his 100 per cent record with his seventh conversion.

Bradford finished a well-beaten side but they at least had the final say when Kear went over for his second try in the last minute and Sammut kicked his third goal.
