Leeds Metropolitan University
The links between rugby and Carnegie go back to 1936 when one of its first students, the legendary Eric Harris, scored a famous try when Leeds won the Challenge Cup at Wembley.
Carnegie Faculty of Sport & Education is part of Leeds Met, the Great North Uni of partnerships and festivals. Founded in 1933, Carnegie was the first male PE Teacher Training College in the country and was established at Leeds Met’s Headingley Campus.
Leeds Met Carnegie is the education partner of the RFL and primary sponsor of the Carnegie Challenge Cup and the Rugby League Carnegie Champion Schools Tournament – the biggest rugby league knockout tournament in the world.
