Wakefield based movie company Howitzer Films have spent this week filming scenes for their new film "Rough and Ready" at the Bigfellas Stadium, home of Featherstone Rovers.

The film, a Northern Black Comedy, is set in West Yorkshire and stars actress and lingerie model Charlotte Dawson, daughter of comedian Les Dawson, and former Emmerdale star Mike Mitchell.

Film producer Jim Dickenson was impressed with the set up at Rovers and the support provided by everyone at the club, saying;

“The film is based in West Yorkshire, and we wanted to help and promote local businesses in the region. The BIgfellas Stadium offered us the perfect location.”

“Howitzer films contacted us expressing an interest in using our facilities," said Featherstone Commercial Manager Paul Taylor. "The Bigfellas is more than just a Rugby League stadium. It can be whatever you want it to be with a little imagination, and we offer excellent support facilities. The filming was deemed a success, which is encouraging as well as gratifying. It tells us and the world that there isn’t much we can’t do here, and naturally we are open to offers from any media organisation that wants to use us.”
