Halton Touch Rugby League
The Halton Touch Rugby League in Widnes is now in full swing with over 50 people taking part in the first three sessions.
The League runs on Wednesday evenings from 6:30pm – 8pm at Ted Gleave Sports ground (West Bank Bears) on Hutchinson Street.
The sessions are social Touch Rugby sessions with a number of games being played on the night. This is a great way for people to get out of the house get active and have fun along the way. Both teams and individuals are welcome to come along and take part in a fast moving, minimal contact form of Rugby League.
Shane Eccles RFL League for all officer said: “To see so many people giving Touch Rugby League a try in the Halton area is really pleasing.
“Touch Rugby League is quite a new initiative from the RFL and something that is aimed to increase the number of people playing Rugby League.
“It’s a great form of the game that is very quick without the physical contact of the Full 13 a side game. Touch rugby League is also a chance to get the whole family involved as it is a mixed sport so people can bring along friends and family and all have a good evening playing Rugby League”
