Bradford have released Dave Halley from the five months remaining on his contract to enable him to join Championship 1 neighbours Keighley.

Bradford Bulls have released Dave Halley from the five months remaining on his contract to enable him to join Championship 1 neighbours Keighley.

The 24-year-old, who can play at full-back or on the wing, has scored 24 tries in 80 appearances for his home-town club, but has not played this season after undergoing a knee reconstruction.

“Having been given the medical all-clear, I need regular first-team rugby at full-back and am excited to join player-coach Jason Demetriou in the Cougars’ battle for promotion,” Halley said.

“I have thoroughly enjoyed my eight years at Odsal Stadium but am excited by the new challenges ahead.”

Bradford football manager Stuart Duffy said: “We would like to thank Dave for exemplary service to the Bulls and we wish him every success in the future.”
