Deanery scoop June raffle prize
Deanery High School are celebrating after winning the June prize in the Community Game Raffle.
The Wigan school sold a massive 629 tickets within the last month and their efforts have been rewarded with 25 tickets to the Carnegie Challenge Cup Final in August.
The last day of the June competition proved to be an exciting one as Hollingworth Business & Enterprise College – who had led the competition for over a week with 300 tickets – looked like they were going to be beaten by a big effort from Methley Royals who hand delivered 360 tickets yesterday morning.
However, that all changed when a massive 629 tickets from Deanery arrived in the post this morning.
“I’d like to offer my congratulations to Deanery,” said Kelly Barrett, Community Game Services Manager.
“Selling so many tickets is a tremendous effort, although a big thank you should also go to all the clubs and schools that entered the June competition.”
So far almost 2,000 tickets have been returned and it is hoped that the July competition proves to be just as popular.
July’s biggest seller will be rewarded with a great prize package that includes Two Tickets to the England v India One Day Cricket International at the Emirates International Stadium in Durham on Saturday 3 September; a Gillette kit bag worth £300 and Four Tickets to the Gillette Four Nations clash between England at Wales at the Leigh Sports Village on Saturday 29 October.
The rules are exactly as before and all tickets must be returned to the RFL’s Community Game Services department by Friday 29 July 2011 to enter.
Tickets returned in June are not taken into account in July and all competitors start at zero. Any tickets returned throughout the course of the raffle also count towards the yearly prizes.
