Champion Schools Year 11 Semi Final
The first Year 11 Boys Semi-Final of the Carnegie Champions School tournament was played on Tuesday 10th April at Bradford Dudley Hill and with both teams looking to advance to the Final a lot was at stake.
Brooksbank were the first to open their account with an early try from Centre Leon Michaelidis the conversion by Ezra Hincliffe was wide of the posts.
Honley fought back with great determination, discipline and courage which saw tries from Josh Holmes and a double from Jack Thompson. However the stand out player for Honley without a doubt was George King who scored a hat trick of tries and successfully scored four out of five conversions.
A belated yet admirable attempt from Brookbank towards the end of the game saw two quick tries from Aaron Manger and Liam Whiting; however the game was all but lost by this point.
It was a valiant effort from both teams who showed excellent sportsmanship towards each other at the end of the game.
A memorable win for Honley who will be waiting anxiously to find out who they meet in the Finals.
The second Semi- Final will be played on Tuesday 10th May.
