Cas and Settle set up repeat final

Castleford High and Settle Middle defied the blustery conditions in Hindley to set up a repeat of last year’s all-Yorkshire Carnegie Champion Schools Final.
The Year 8 Girls competition was evenly matched throughout the day, however, strong semi-final performances from both teams set up another encounter between the two schools.
After winning all four of their group matches, Settle Middle met unbeaten London-based side Orleans Park in what looked set to be a highly entertaining semi-final, and so it proved.
Two moments of individual brilliance from Settle Middle helped them carve open a 12- 0 on the London outfit. This twelve point deficit was enough to send Settle Meddle to their second final in two years.
Awaiting Settle Middle in the final for the second year running will be Castleford High, who also managed to nil their opponents at the semi-final stage.
Facing St Benedicts of Cumbria, Castleford High proved too strong for their counterparts, claiming a 16-0 victory and maintaining their unbeaten record throughout the day.
A final day out in London is the reward for these ever consistent schools.
