CLUB AND COACH DEVELOPMENT OFFICERS:

The RFL Performance and Coaching Department has seen some major changes over the last 18 months and as a result has grown and developed considerably.
January 2008 saw the employment of 14 full-time Club and Coach Development Officers. These officers are now active within the Rugby League Community and are spread throughout the country - operating in London, the Midlands and the North East, as well as Yorkshire, Humberside and the North West.
The CCDO’s will be out amongst clubs and coaches offering a wide range of support, with a focus on those coaches working in the community game and at Service Area level.
Their responsibilities will include:
- Supporting clubs to achieve Clubmark
- Overseeing club development projects
- Helping with the new qualifications and the Bridging Process
- Delivery of Courses and the STEP’s Programme
- Mentoring local coaches
- Identifying coaches of outstanding ability and potential
The Club and Coach Development Officers are a welcome addition to the department and will support the work of the team already in place at Red Hall. It is hoped that they will be able to offer the face-to-face contact and interaction required by our community coaches on a daily basis.
