Tandy handy for Robins
Hull KR have continued their mid-season team strengthening with the capture of Australian prop Ryan Tandy from National League club Doncaster.
The 25-year-old, who has joined the Robins until the end of the season, has spent the last three years in England, initially with Whitehaven, and was in the Widnes team which lost to Hull KR in the engage Super League promotion decider last October.
"Ryan is a welcome addition to the team and is a very good player who possesses the ability to cause havoc on the field," said coach Justin Morgan.
Tandy played with St George Illawarra in Australia but has a Birmingham-born father and Irish grandparents and, therefore, does not count on the overseas quota.
"I'm really keen to have a shot at Super League," he said.
"These are exciting times and I am looking forward to getting to know the boys and show them what I am capable of."
He is Rovers' fifth new face in a month following the signing of Paul Cooke, Mark Lennon, Danny Hill and Ian Hardman, although Hill and Hardman's loan spells expire this week.
