KIDS 2 KR SPORTS EXTRAVAGANZA
Hull Kingston Rovers are aiming to raise the profile of rugby league in East Hull this week with a half term sports extravaganza.
The KR community staff have teamed up with the Hat-trick Project and Soccer Sensations to provide a fun and diverse holiday training camp for local children and young people. A mixture of rugby league and football workshops will be available for participants to enjoy. The camps will run at Soccer Sensations on Tuesday 13, Wednesday 14 and Thursday 15 March. Girls and boys are welcome to attend between 10.30am and 12.30pm (8-11yrs) and 1.30pm and 3.30pm (12-16yrs).
Making a guest appearance during the extravaganza will be Rovers mascot Rufus the Robin, as well as some first team stars.
Commenting on the Kids 2 KR camp, community development manager Lora Webster said: "Holding half term activities gives us a great opportunity to extend the work we undertake in schools. These camps enable us to cater for children at each end of the spectrum, from those who just want to have a bit of fun, to those who have aspirations of being a future Rovers star.
"Working with the Hat-trick project means we can engage with young people whose passion is football thus creating what we hope will be an ongoing partnership between the two popular sports".
Hull Kingston Rovers are fortunate to have the use of the Soccer Sensations venue which boasts excellent facilities for young sports people and their families.
