RFL declares profit for 2005
The RFL has completed and filed its annual accounts for 2005.
During this period, the organisation has declared a profit of over half a million pounds.
The strong financial performance of the RFL's major events - such as the Powergen Challenge Cup Final and big international matches - are among the primary factors behind these positive returns.
The RFL's Chief Operating Officer and Finance Director Nigel Wood said: "These successful financial results are a further indication of both the growth of Rugby League as a sport and the development of the RFL as a national governing body.
"Our major events and commercial activity have been important elements of our business performance and we can look forward to further positive developments in future seasons."
A comprehensive annual report document containing detailed financial information and a review of the RFL business and related areas is being prepared and will be published in the near future.
