Hemel keep hopes alive

Hemel Stags kept their Kingstone Press Championship 1 play-off hopes alive with a 44-24 victory over Gloucestershire All Golds at Pennine Way.

Craig Cook crossed for an early try for the All Golds that Matthew Bradley converted but the lead didn't last long as Aaron Small went over for the Stags with Barry John Swindells converting.

Michael Brown and Jy-Mel Coleman then crossed for Hemel with Swindells converting both to send them into the break 18-6 up.

Alex Ingarfield, Mathew Cook, Cariern Clement-Pascall and James Cameron all crossed after the break with Swindells adding another three goals and Cook one.

The All Golds battled back into the game with tries from Jamie Crowther and Phil Cowburn, both converted by Bradley.

Coleman added a goal for the Stags before Miles Fairbank wrapped up the scoring with a late try bettered by Bradley.
