South Wales Scorpions player charged
South Wales Scorpions player Barrie Phillips will appear before an independent disciplinary tribunal next Tuesday charged with two offences of making Grade D dangerous contact with an opponent in the 48th and 72nd minutes of a Kingstone Press Championship One fixture against Gateshead Thunder on Sunday August 17.
Phillips was charged after the incidents were viewed by the RFL Match Review Panel, which also issued formal cautions to the following players:
- Dean Hadley (Hull FC) – dangerous throw on Brett Kearney of Bradford Bulls in the 10th minute;
- Jay Pitts (Bradford Bulls) – dangerous throw on Tom Lineham of Hull FC in the 13th minute.
- Ash Lindsay (Keighley Cougars) – dangerous contact v North Wales Crusaders in the 63rd minute.
