Mark Offerdahl has today become head coach James Lowes' fifth new addition for 2015, after signing a one-year deal with the club.

The 26-year-old forward was a star of the USA's World Cup show last year, as the Tomahawks made it through to the competition’s last eight.

Offerdahl began this season with Kingstone Press Championship side North Wales Crusaders, before agreeing a move to St George Illawarra Dragons.

However, having being presented with an offer by Bradford's board of directors, the former Manly Sea Eagles and ASC Carcassonne talent admits he was quick to grasp the opportunity to run with the Bulls.

“As soon as the chance to play for such a big club came up, I jumped at it and had very little hesitation in doing so,” said Offerdahl, who can play in the front row and back row.

“I am certainly looking forward to the challenge at hand. I cannot wait to get back over to the UK and get everything underway.

“The plan is to force my way into the team and play big minutes, while making an impact.

“I spoke to a few of the boys I know over there and they had nothing but good things to say about the Bulls and the direction the club is going in.

“I want to take my performance to another level with Bradford and really make my presence known.

“For me, the sky is the limit and the chance of making it back into Super League – with the Bulls – is one I am relishing.”

Coach James Lowes believes Offerdahl can provide his pack with “another dimension”.

And the Bulls boss wants to see his latest capture shine at the Provident Stadium.

“Mark will add a lot of power, size and energy to our front line next year,” added Lowes.

“He is a player who has really impressed me and I am pleased with the homework we have done on him.

“Mark is keen to come over and have a crack at Super League with us. But, in order to do that, he knows he will have to play his part in helping us earn promotion in 2015.

“He is an international forward, who I felt did a great job for the USA in the World Cup, and this a big chance for him to prove himself.

“Hopefully, he will do well here and the one-year deal will become much longer.

“I believe Mark's addition will further enhance the good blend of forwards we are putting together.”

Offerdahl's signing is subject to his visa application being approved.
