Broncos snap up Williams

Relegated London Broncos have signed Wales three-quarter Rhys Williams on a two-year deal from next season.

Relegated London Broncos have signed Wales three-quarter Rhys Williams on a two-year deal from next season.

Williams, 24, made 29 appearances for Warrington Wolves from 2010-13 when he also had loan spells at Crusaders, Castleford Tigers and Salford Red Devils, and is spending this season playing for Central Queensland Capras in the Intrust Super Cup in Australia.

"I'm really pleased that Rhys will join us next season," said Broncos coach Joey Grima.

"He will add some pace to our back line and has the versatility, strength and speed to play at centre and wing.

"Rhys will move from Australia to London in time for our pre-season which begins at the start of November as we prepare for the season ahead in the Championship."

Williams has won 13 cap for Wales, including two in the 2013 World Cup, and is their leading tryscorer.

"I'm very excited to be joining the Broncos next season," Williams said.

"The challenge of getting back into Super League is one I'm looking forward to as well as playing under Joey. His enthusiasm certainly shines through and his plans for changing the culture at the club are exciting.

"This, alongside living in London, where my brother and sister won't be too far away, is a big advantage after being in Australia for a year."
