South Wales Scorpions 19-18 London Skolars
Emanuelli boots strugglers to win
Paul Emanuelli's late drop goal meant bottom-of-the-table South Wales beat London Skolars 19-18 to record just their second victory of the season.
The basement-dwelling Scorpions' only previous success this season had come against Sunday's opponents, and they held a 12-6 advantage at half-time thanks to tries from Phil Carleton and Jordan Sheridan, Emanuelli converting the latter score before adding another goal on the stroke of half-time.
However, the visitors, for who Courtney Davies had crossed in the first period, turned the game on its head with Ryan McDonald and Dave Williams going over within seven minutes of each, Davies keeping his 100 per cent record with the extras.
South Wales came back, though, Jack Pring's converted try bringing them level before Emanuelli's drop goal four minutes from time gave them the narrowest of victories.
