Oldham RLFC 24-23 Hunslet Hawks
Late show sees off Hunslet
Oldham scored two tries in the final six minutes to edge to a slender 24-23 triumph over fellow high-fliers Hunslet.
The Hawks could have leapfrogged their opponents into second place in the Kingstone Press Championship 1 table, yet Danny Langtree and Josh Crawley passed the whitewash late on to keep the pressure on leaders York.
Oldham shaded the first period, tries from Adam Clay, Steven Nield and Brett Robinson putting them in the ascendancy, Lewis Palfrey adding the extras to two of the three scores.
Hunslet's sole try in the first 40 minutes came through Danny Grimshaw but they upped the ante after the break, Lee Brickwood, Jimmy Watson and James Houston all crossing with Andy Ballard converting all four tries.
And when James Coyle landed a 73rd-minute drop goal, they appeared to be on their way to victory. However, Langtree and Crawley had other ideas.
