McIlorum out for eight weeks
Wigan Warriors have suffered a blow with the news that hooker Michael McIlorum faces a spell of up to two months on the sidelines with a broken arm.
Coach Shaun Wane described losing the "best hooker in the world" for the next eight weeks as a big loss for the Super League giants.
The 26-year-old Leeds-born England international sustained the injury during Wigan's 48-4 victory over Widnes Vikings last Wednesday which put them top of the First Utility Super League table for the first time in 11 months.
McIlorum subsequently missed his side's 36-28 defeat to Wakefield Trinity Wildcats on Sunday which saw the third-placed Warriors drop two points behind leaders St Helens.
Wane told BBC Radio Manchester: "We'll hopefully get him back for the play-offs.
"He's the best hooker in the world for me and he's going to be a loss."
Wigan next take on leaders Saints in Friday's Super League clash at the DW Stadium.
