New deal for Pelissier
France international Eloi Pelissier has ended speculation over his future by signing a new two-year contract with Catalan Dragons that will keep him at the Gilbert Brutus Stadium until the end of 2016.
The 22-year-old Perpignan-born hooker, who has made 81 First Utility Super League appearances since making his debut in 2011, recently spoke about his frustration at being the understudy to Australian hooker Andrew Henderson, who is currently sidelined through injury, and sought reassurances from the club before putting pen to paper.
Pelissier said: "I love the club, it's my home-town club, and I'm very happy and proud to stay here for the next two seasons.
"I've had talks with (coach) Laurent Frayssinous and (owner) Bernard Guasch and it was important for me to feel their full support and confidence."
Frayssinous said: "I'm delighted that Eloi has signed a new contract to stay with the club after an outstanding season for him so far.
"He is a local product and he represents the future of the club. He had a great opportunity this season and he showed he could be one of the best hookers in the Super League."
