Giants get big win at #magicweekend
Huddersfield Giants 54, Bradford Bulls 16

Huddersfield Giants captain Danny Brough masterminded a 54-16 victory over Bradford Bulls at Magic Weekend 2014.
Brough’s perfect kicking game and a try of his own heaped misery on a Bradford side desperate to get some points on the First Utility Super League table.
Despite a strong first half performance, the Bulls lost control after the break as the Giants scored a succession of tries to end as runaway winners.
Bradford did score the first try of the game when Adrian Purtell flicked the ball out from behind him to Danny Addy who was waiting in support to crashed over the line. Jamie Foster converted.
However, last year’s League Leaders were not going to remain scoreless for long when out of nowhere, Joe Wardle shrugged off the Bulls defence and went over for the try. Captain Danny Brough converted the try.
The Bulls showed much resilience to the attack and Jamie Foster somersaulted over in the corner for an acrobatic try but failed to convert.
With Bradford going ahead for the second time in the game, the Giants stepped up the pressure when Brough kicked a 40:20 and Shaun Lunt took advantage with a try just after 20 minutes.
Brough was really beginning to make his presence felt and his fantastic 20-metre break set up Luke Robinson for his try and just before half-time, Jodie Broughton scored a full length of the field solo effort, putting the Giants firmly in control at 24-10 going into half-time.
Both teams opened the second half with disallowed tries but it was Giants captain Brough who got the scoring up and running. Larne Patrick made a break not dissimilar to Brough’s in the first half and the skipper was through and clear to score.
Scott Grix scored another for the Giants and it started to feel like this game had slipped well out of the reach of the Bulls.
Ukuma Ta’ai, former Bradford loanee Anthony Mullally and Patrick all scored further tries for the Giants while Foster scored for the Bulls in the last two minutes of the game but by that that time, it was a mere consolation for Bradford who were outplayed by an impressive Huddersfield side.
