Broncos take Herold on trial
New London Broncos coach Joe Grima has looked to France to make his first acquisition for the basement First Utility Super League club.
The Broncos are to give a trial to prop forward Maxime Herold, 24, who is currently with French Elite One Championship club Limoux.
Herold was recommended to London by former player Karl Temata, who now coaches Limoux, and will be with the club initially for a four-week period.
Grima, who was promoted from the role of assistant coach when Tony Rea stepped down on Monday, said: "Tony Rea and I believed that he would be beneficial to the club moving forward."
On Temata, he added: "He seems a good size, is well paced and has good skill levels.
"He had his first training session with us today and has fitted in really well apart from the language barrier. He did everything I asked of him."
Herold may come into contention for the Broncos' next match, a home game against Huddersfield Giants on Saturday.
