Sheffield Eagles 18-24 Barrow Raiders
Barrow ruin Eagles homecoming
Barrow ruined Sheffield Eagles' return to Owlerton Stadium by pulling off a shock 24-18 win over the reigning champions in the Kingstone Press Championship.
The Raiders were pointless after the opening two rounds but they stunned their hosts by opening up a 12-4 half-time lead thanks to tries from Dan Toal and Jack Morrison, both goaled by Ian Mort.
Sheffield struck back with tries from Gareth Owen and Pat Walker within seven minutes of the re-start and they were 18-12 ahead when Scott Turner scored his second try of the match on 56 minutes.
However, Dominic Brambani was able to convert just one of the Eagles' four tries and Barrow added further tries through Toal and Liam Harrison in the last quarter to secure their first win of the season.
