Millington extends Cas stay
Castleford Tigers have announced that Grant Millington has signed a one-year contract extension with the club.
The new deal for the 27-year-old back rower will see him remain with the Tigers until the end of the 2015 season.
Millington joined the Tigers ahead of the 2012 campaign from NRL side Canterbury Bulldogs and has since gone on to make 44 Super League appearances, scoring seven tries, including one in the opening day win at Bradford Bulls last Sunday.
"I'm happy to sign the new deal," Millington said.
"Towards the back end of last season I re-signed for 2014 but just before I went back to Australia for the off-season Daryl Powell texted me and mentioned that he was interested in keeping me for another season on top of that.
"My wife and I went home and had a chat about it and we couldn't think of any reason not to so we are really happy to be here for 2015 too.
"The feeling around the club at the moment is great. The first two seasons were a little bit of a struggle, although towards the end of last season things really picked up for us.
"I've really enjoyed my time here; it's a family club and everyone is here to help everyone else so I'm happy to be here for a bit longer.
"Daryl's asked me to help some of the younger forwards too with little bits in their game where a bit more experience may help them so I'm relishing taking that on as well."
Castleford Tigers' Head Coach Daryl Powell said: "I have been hugely impressed with Grant as a leader and a player during my time at the club.
"He is a natural rugby league player with a great instinct for the game. His contract extension gives us further stability moving forward and I am delighted his stay at the club has been extended."
