Robins set for record crowd this weekend

The Robins will run out in front of a stadium record crowd on Sunday afternoon...

Hull KR's opening game of the season against Leeds Rhinos at the KC Lightstream Stadium this Sunday (KO 3pm) is heading for a sell-out with over 10,300 tickets already sold.

Those figures mean that the Robins will run out in front of a stadium record crowd on Sunday afternoon with the previous biggest attendance being 10,250 against Hull FC back in 2011.

That was one of just three occasions in the 25-year history of the stadium that there has been a crowd of over 10,000 inside the home of the Robins and CEO Mike Smith says that Sunday will be a great occasion for all involved with the club.

“All the indications are that we will be putting up the ‘sold out’ signs on Sunday and that would be a wonderful achievement,” he said. “The board of directors have demonstrated their ambition during the winter with significant investment being made both on and off the pitch and it’s important that our supporters match that commitment by backing the club and the team.

“The board have always been prepared to back the club and seeing the stadium full on Sunday would show them that all the financial support and hard work is worth it. If there are supporters out there who are still not sure whether to come down to the game my message would be to buy a ticket, support the team and enjoy a great day out.”

The North Stand is close to being sold out with individual match tickets no longer available. The remaining tickets have been ring fenced for supporters wishing to purchase a Season Membership or for individuals wishing to purchase a one-off hospitality place in the Rovers 200 restaurant.

East Stand tickets are still available to purchase online at www.hullkr.co.uk, by calling 01482 222072 or from the Rovers Retail Store on Savile Street. The advice from the club is to buy in advance to avoid any possible disappointment.

As well as the big game itself, there will also be a feast of entertainment off the pitch with local bands and regional artists providing entertainment pre and post-match on the north stand concourse and in a specially erected marquee outside of the Robins Nest. Supporters are therefore advised to arrive early to soak up the match day experience
