Ambitious All Golds offer dual code deal to former Rooster
NRL table-toppers Sydney Roosters, spearheaded by Sonny Bill Williams, may be the talk of the town Down Under but it is another Rooster who is hoping to count his chickens in Gloucestershire.
Powerful winger Luke Hume is currently on trial with Aviva Premiership side Gloucester, with Bath Rugby thought to be next in line for his signature if a place cannot be found for him at Kingsholm.
However, the University of Gloucestershire All Golds have announced that they would be more than happy to put an offer to Luke that would see the US International return to the 13 aside code that he was brought up with.
All Golds President Lionel Hurst stated:
“ We are already recruiting strongly for next year and have been following Luke’s fascinating story with great interest. His pedigree is impeccable, having risen through the ranks at Sydney glamour club the Roosters. There is no doubt that he would be a very significant addition to our playing roster for 2014.”
"We are very friendly with Gloucester Rugby and would also consider a dual registration agreement, whereby Luke could play Rugby Union in the Winter and Rugby League in the Summer. This approach would sit neatly with a number of significant partnerships that exists between the two codes in the county."
