Sides ready for BIG finale
The inaugural Heinz BIG Conference Youth League Finals will take place at the Tetley’s Stadium, home of Dewsbury Rams, on Sunday September 22.
In 2013 Heinz have extended their coverage of the Community Game by including the under-16s age group in addition to the under-18s which they sponsored in 2012 and Sunday will see the best two teams at both levels from the Yorkshire Junior League and North West Youth Leagues go head to head.
The day’s action will see some of the most promising junior players in the country in action, many of whom will go on to feature in Super League, Championships and at international level in years to come.
Hilary Steel MBE Chair of the North West Youth League enthused, “The Heinz Big Soup Competition has had a wonderful effect on our teams who are all really excited about the possibility of playing on a professional club’s ground in a different County.
“All top teams want to test themselves against the best and these finals will certainly do that.”
Charlie Bray of the Yorkshire Junior League added, “The way both Leagues and the RFL have worked together to make these finals possible has been great, together with the support of a massive international brand such as Heinz.
“I’m sure the four competing teams will not let us down for what promises to be a fantastic day of Rugby League.”
The action begins with the under-16s final between East Hull and Blackbrook Royals of St Helens at 1.30pm, before the under-18 final takes centre stage at 3.00pm, when West Hull will take Wigan St Judes.
