Bulls sign Gaskell
Bradford Bulls have made Salford City Reds utility back Lee Gaskell their fourth major signing for 2014.
The 22-year-old has spent most of the 2013 season on loan to the Reds from home-town club St Helens and has opted to join the Bulls on a two-year contract.
Bradford coach Francis Cummins, who has already signed Warrington Wolves prop Garreth Carvell and Huddersfield Giants duo Luke George and Dale Ferguson for next season, is delighted to have secured the services of Gaskell.
"It's great that Lee was really keen to come to Bradford when he had an offer from Salford to stay there," Cummins said.
"When you're stood next to Lee, he's quite imposing and you can see the potential in him, which is great. His best years are ahead of him."
The six foot Gaskell, who joined Salford in exchange for hooker Stuart Howarth in March, was a stand-off at St Helens but has played in 16 of Salford's last 19 matches at centre and full-back.
He said: "I had quite a number of clubs who were interested but, once I had spoken to Franny, I just wanted to come to Bradford.
"He's young himself and I'm sure he is learning a lot as he goes along.
"He's only going to get better as a head coach so it all bodes well for the club.
"Bradford are going in the right direction and they have a great history. Hopefully I can help to bring the good times back."
