Dewsbury Rams 18-30 Sheffield Eagles
Brambani sets record in Eagles victory
Dominic Brambani established a new club record for points in a season as leaders Sheffield Eagles won 30-18 at Dewsbury to retain their three-point advantage with three matches left of the regular season.
The half-back kicked five goals to take his tally for the year to 145, just three short of equalling the record set by current coach Mark Aston in 1989, and took his points total past the record of 299 also held by Aston.
Centre Menzie Yere opened the scoring with his 39th try of the season, putting him level with Wigan winger Josh Charnley at the top of the chart and taking him to within three tries of equalling the club record of 114 established by Daryl Powel in 1995.
Cory Aston, son of the club coach, scored the Eagles' fifth try to put them 30-6 up before Greg Scott and Karl Pryce grabbed late consolation tries to earn a losing bonus point for the Rams.
