York City Knights 16-42 Sheffield Eagles
Eagles continue to fly high
Quentin Lauulu-Togagae bagged a hat-trick of tries as a strong second-half showing from Sheffield helped the Eagles maintain their position atop the Kingstone Press Championship following a 42-16 victory at York.
The league leaders were only 18-16 ahead at the half-time hooter, with Mitch Stringer, Michael Knowles and Lauulu-Togagae's tries all converted by Dominic Brambani, with Jack Lee, George Elliot and Ben Johnston responding for the Knights. Tom Carr failed to add the extras to their first try.
York visibly wilted in the second half, however, and Lauulu-Togagae crossed twice more to add to tries from Menzie Yere and Tom Armstrong, with Brambani maintaining his 100 per cent record with the boot.
