London Skolars 24-44 Oldham RLFC
Clinical Oldham see off Skolars
Oldham maintained their five-point lead at the top of the Kingstone Press Championship 1 table with a 44-24 victory over London Skolars at New River Stadium.
Lewis Palfrey delivered a man-of-the-match performance with a 20-point game haul, kicking eight goals and scoring Oldham's opening try.
Full-back Richard Lepori ran Palfrey close for recognition as Oldham's best player of the afternoon by helping himself to a hat-trick of tries, while Mathew Haggerty, Dale Bloomfield and Adam Files also touched down for the away side.
Although the Skolars were outscored by seven tries to four by the Roughyeds, Joe Mbu's side contributed to a game full of action and scored at regular intervals to keep applying pressure on the league leaders.
Their tries were scored by John Paxton, Andy McLean, Erjon Dollapi and James Anthony, while Dylan Skee - last week's Skolars hero - chipped in with four goals.
Although they failed to even claim a bonus point from this encounter, the Skolars will be buoyed by their performance and fully confident that they can cement a top-half league finish come the end of the season.
