Barrow snatch dramatic win
Barrow snatched a dramatic 26-24 victory at York to end a six-match losing run and lift themselves off the foot of the Kingstone Press Championship.
The Cumbrians were never in front until the last few seconds when Kurt Haggerty kicked a 30-metre penalty, his fifth goal of the match, to break the deadlock.
With the scores tied at 24-24 for the last 25 minutes, York stand-off Simon Brown, Haggerty and his team-mates all failed with two drop-goal attempts and York prop Nathan Freer had a try disallowed for a knock-on just short of the line.
Dougie Flockhart, Jack Briscoe, Sam Scott and Ben Johnston scored tries for York, with Tommy Carr kicking four goals, while Max Wiper touched down twice for the visitors in the second after Casey and Liam Finch had notched first-half tries.
