Oldham RLFC 26-18 Hemel Stags
Roughyeds up to second
Oldham Roughyeds went second in the table as they claimed an 26-18 victory over Hemel Stags in Kingstone Press Championship 1.
Dale Bloomfield and Steven Nield crossed over for the home side in the first half either side of Mason Caton-Brown's effort for the Stags.
And Caton-Brown added his second try just after the break for the visitors - which Barry John Swindells converted - to level the scores at 10-10.
Swindells scored a goal to put Hemel in front for the first time but their lead only lasted three minutes as the Roughyeds struck back with three more tries from Danny Langtree, Kenny Hughes and John Ford with Lewis Palfrey adding the extras.
Mike Forgham tried to mount a late comeback for the Stags with a last-minute try, again converted by Swindells, but Oldham held on.
