South Wales Scorpions 32-36 Oldham RLFC
Hobson late show secures win
Mark Hobson scored a last-minute try to snatch Oldham a 36-32 victory against South Wales in the Kingstone Press Championship 1.
It was looking good for the home side early on as Joe Burke went over in the fourth minute and Connor Farrer and James Greenwood added further tries to put them firmly in command.
Jason Boults pulled a try back for Oldham before John Ford took over, grabbing a hat-trick before the break.
Farrer scored his second try of the afternoon in the 57th minute, and after Ford had gone over for his fourth of an impressive game, James Tutuila and Shae Lyon-Fraser edged South Wales ahead going into the closing stages.
With time ticking away, Hobson won it for Oldham in dramatic fashion.
Lewis Palfrey had six goals for Oldham, while Jack Murphy converted four for South Wales.
